Dierks woman sentenced to ADC for felony Non-support
A Dierks woman has been sentenced to ten years in prison this week from Howard County Circuit Court. 51 year old Wanda Morris was charged with a felony count of non-support. Authorities said at the time the charges were filed in January 2020, Morris was more than $28,420 dollars behind on child support payments.
Her sentence from this week will be served concurrently with charges in Pike County.
Also sentenced this week in Nashville, was 52 year old Sherwood Jones of Nashville. Jones was arrested following a February vehicle pursuit by Nashville officers. Police said Jones threw an item from the vehicle during the pursuit. Officers say Jones tossed several bags of methamphetamine from the vehicle during the pursuit.
During his court proceedings Wednesday, Jones was given a six year prison sentence and an additional suspended sentence of six years. He will be given credit for jail time served.
