Southwest District: Cody * Ashlee Askew of Hope – The Askews have 1,440 acres where they raise cattle and swine as well as grow hay, pecans, corn silage & timber. They have been farming for 21 years and have two sons, Levi & Eli.
These 2 continue on alongside the other 6 district winners to be judged with the winner being determined on December 9th at the Farm Family of the Year Luncheon. The Winner will then go on to represent the state of Arkansas in the southeastern Farmer of the Year competition. In the past Arkansas has had 2 farmers receive that title – Once in 2008 and again in 2016. All winners are judged on their farm production, efficiency, management, family life, & rural and community leadership.
