Dr. Sayre retires from HMH medical staff, March 1
Howard Memorial Hospital CFO, Bill Craig informed the Board of Directors Tuesday night that the hospital suffered a net loss of $71,086 for the month of January, but he said early indicators for the month of February pointed toward the hospital rebounding financially.
Craig stated the hospital’s loss was driven by the loss of outpatient revenue.
Craig then reported he had completed the hospital’s Medicare Cost Report and it revealed a positive outcome.
CEO Debra Wright reported as of February 18 no hospital employee was out due to COVID. She also said the hospital’s Phase One of the COVID Vaccine Mandate went into effect February 14. Wright said all employees had to have documentation of vaccination information, medical or religious exemption forms or delay due to recent COVID infection.
Wright announced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Alana Day submitted her resignation and Dr. Sayre announced he was retiring from the Medical Staff as of March 1. Dr. Sayre also served as the Vice Chairman of the Medical Staff Committee and Chairman of the Medical Records Committee.
