Early voting information in Howard County

Early voting will continue in Howard County until Monday, March 4 at the Carter Day Center on North Main Street in Nashville. Registered voters can cast their ballots from 8 am to 6 pm today and Friday, on Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm and Monday, March 4 from 8 am until 5 pm.

As of Tuesday, February 27, a total of 318 votes have been cast during the early voting period.

On Election Day, Tuesday, March 5, voters can cast their ballot at one of the following locations from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. The voting centers are located at the Carter Day Center in Nashville, the Mineral Springs Methodist Church, the Dierks Community Center and the Umpire Fire Department.

Absentee ballots will be canvassed on March 5 at 5 pm at the Howard County Annex Building. If you have not received your absentee ballot and would like to vote absentee, you can still contact the Howard County Clerk’s office by calling 870-845-7502.

Voters will be asked to cast their vote in the Republican Primary, the Democratic Primary or the Nonpartisan Judicial ballot.

The contested races on the Republican ballot includes the Presidential nomination; the State Representative District 88 race between Dolly Henley, Robert Leslie Bradford and Arnetta Bradford; the Justice of the Peace 6 race between Elizabeth McDaniel and Josh Zylks and the Mineral Springs School Board zone 3 race between Ricky Gamble, Nikita N. Hopkins and Kay Thornton.

The contested races on the Democratic ballot includes the Presidential nomination; the Justice of the Peace 9 race between Stacy T. Turner, Juanita G. Jackson and Margie Green; and the Mineral Springs School Board zone 3 race between Ricky Gamble, Nikita N. Hopkins and Kay Thornton.

The Nonpartisan Judicial ballot includes the State Supreme Court Chief Justice Position 1 race between Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Karen Baker, Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Wood, Supreme Court Justice Barbara Womack Webb and Jay Martin; the State Supreme Court Associate Justice Position 2 bewteen Judge Carlton D. Jones, State Supreme Court Associate Justice Courtney Hudson and the Mineral Springs School Board zone 3 race between Ricky Gamble, Nikita N. Hopkins and Kay Thornton.

Other issues that will be on all three ballots include: the election of council members in the City of Mineral Springs, the school millages for Mineral Springs, Nashville, Cossatot River and Dierks.
