EF-0 tornado confirmed near Prescott

Officials with the National Weather Service in Shreveport say one tornado occurred in our area during last week’s round of severe weather.  Damage from an EF-0 tornado was found near the city of Prescott.  Tree damage was noted from the April 13th tornado that was the ground for just over two tenths of a mile.  Winds were estimated at 85 miles per hour with the tornado.  The damage was reported about a mile south of Prescott.  Even though the tornado dissipated, straight line wind damage continued to the northeast, to north of Highway 24, just east of Prescott.
