Extra Police Patrols Scheduled For Holiday Weekend
Arkansas law enforcement agencies are once again participating in the “Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over” highway safety campaign for the July 4th holiday weekend.
State police, city officers and county deputies will increase their patrols along roads and highways with zero tolerance for those who drive impaired.
Motorists should expect to see more sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols.
According to the latest available numbers, impaired driving due to alcohol contributes to nearly 30 percent of traffic deaths.
In addition to checking for impaired drivers over the holiday weekend, police say they will also be watching for motorists who are not wearing their seat belt.
