Fall Events Canceled Around Southwest Arkansas
Summer festivals in southwest Arkansas were canceled this year due to COVID-19 and now the virus is starting to affect events for the fall months as well.
Last week, officials with the Four States Fair in Texarkana announced a postponement of the annual Fair and Rodeo Carnival, PRCA Rodeo, Demo Derby and exhibits from September to April 2-11, 2021. The livestock shows will remain in September.
Friday evening, the Arkansas State Fair and Southwest District Fair also made similar announcements. The Arkansas Livestock Show Association said the state fair events would be canceled for October but the group left open the possibility that a livestock show could be held during the fair’s scheduled 10 day period.
In Hope, officials with the Southwest District Fair said all events except the livestock show are being canceled. Additional details about the livestock show will be announced soon.
