Fall Festivities Abound as Halloween Approaches
As Halloween draws near, the surrounding area is buzzing with fall activities for all ages.
The Haunted Hospital is open every weekend in October and on Halloween night at 315 E 13th Street in Murfreesboro. Families can enjoy a kid-friendly hour from 6:30 to 7 PM, followed by the haunted experience from 7 to 10:30 PM. Admission is $5 for children ages five and under and $10 for those six and up. This Saturday, October 19th, the Newhope Volunteer Fire Department will host its Fall Festival starting at 5 PM, featuring BBQ sandwiches, a cake walk, games for kids, bouncy houses, and a hayride at dark.
Also on Saturday, the Blevins School Cafeteria will hold a Halloween Fest starting at 6 PM. Entry is free, with a $5 fee for the Haunted Hallway, along with games, candy, and concessions available.
Mark your calendars for October 26th! The City of Mineral Springs will host its Community Fall Festival and Boo in the Shoe event at the Mineral Springs City Park from 11 AM to 7 PM. Everyone is encouraged to participate by handing out candy. All-day wristband passes for games and bounce houses are $5, with vendor sign-up deadlines on October 18th.
Additionally, the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce will host its Fall Festival on October 26th at 1 Courthouse Square, kicking off at noon, featuring a weenie dog race at 3:30 PM. For more info, call 870-925-1874.
Finally, the First Baptist Church will present the Big Drop Free Fall Festival event on October 27th from 5 to 7 PM, featuring food, games, candy, inflatables, and a trunk or treat at 6 PM.
