Fatal accident claims life of Dierks resident

A Dierks man died Saturday morning as a result of a single vehicle accident on Highway 278.

According to the report from the Arkansas State Police, 50 year old Jerry Jones of Dierks was traveling east on Highway 278 and ran of the right side of the road. Jones over corrected and crossed the highway, leaving the roadway on the left side of the highway. Jones’ 2011 Buick Enclave then struck a tree and overturned.

The accident occurred about 9:19 Saturday morning and was investigated by Arkansas State Police Corporal Ernesto Echevarria.
