Fatal Accident in Hempstead County Involving AR-DOT Work Zone

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Hempstead County, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man. The incident took place at approximately 9:16 AM on Arkansas Highway 32 West, within an established AR-DOT work zone.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the victim, identified as Brandon Jones from Emmet, Arkansas, was standing on the rear bumper of an official AR-DOT work truck. He was reportedly in the process of picking up traffic cones when he fell from the moving vehicle. Tragically, Jones was struck by another AR-DOT work truck after falling.

It was reported that the road conditions were dry, the weather was clear, and no additional injuries were reported. The Hempstead County Coroner has taken custody of the victim’s body. The incident was investigated by ASP Trooper Landon Loe.
