MSSD reassigns Bennett to Special Education teacher

Monday night, the members of the Mineral Springs School Board voted to accept David Bennett’s verbal resignation as head football coach. Superintendent Billy Lee recommended the board accept Bennett’s resignation as coach and reassign to the position of elementary special education teacher. Lee said Bennett was simply not ready to retire from teaching

Board members also approved the hiring of Taylor Lee the the position of EAST facilitator and English teacher. Lee is currently working in the Hope School District. They also hired Regina Husky has a third grade teacher. She has a Master’s in reading and literacy specialist. She worked in the South Pike County School District.

The district’s certified staff was rehired with the exception of James Perry who resigned due to health reasons.
