Fatal Four-Car Accident on Highway 27 Claims Life of Blevins Woman
A four-car collision on Highway 27 on Thursday, November 21, tragically claimed the life of 49-year-old Melody Kiley of Blevins. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety reported that the accident involved a 2018 Dodge Caravan, a 2005 Peterbilt truck, a 2021 Jeep Renegade, and a 2024 Chevy Trax.
According to the report, the Dodge Caravan, driven by Kiley, was on Cassidy Street when it failed to yield the right of way, colliding with the southbound Peterbilt truck, driven by 34-year-old Kelly Starr of Oden. The force of the crash caused the Peterbilt to overturn, spilling its cargo onto the roadway. The spilled cargo subsequently struck both the Jeep Renegade, driven by 48-year-old Vincent Gamble of Nashville, and the Chevy Trax.
Emergency responders transported both drivers and passengers to Howard Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Kiley’s body was taken to the Howard Memorial Morgue.
Corporal Travis Hale of the Arkansas State Police, who investigated the scene, confirmed that the road conditions at the time were clear and dry. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
