Filing period closes for area School Board Elections

The South Pike County School Board will have at least one new member after this year’s election process in May. Sarina Minton did not file for re-election to the Zone One seat, nor did anyone else. In the district’s Zone Five position, Robert Silva filed for the seat that is presently held by Angie Fabian.
Larry Harvey did file to retain his Zone Five seat on the Centerpoint School Board.
In Howard County, there will be no contested races for board positions, as only the present office holders filed for their positions. That list includes Jerry Wilson in the Nashville District Zone Four, Shelia Jackson for Zone One at Mineral Springs, and Kenneth Eckert for the open Dierks board spot.
