Filing Period Starts Next Week For Dierks Candidates

The filing period for Dierks school board and Dierks city council candidates opens next week.

The open position on the Dierks school board is the seat presently held by Dillard “Bubba” McSpadden. The position is a five year term and all school board seats are Dierks are at-large.

In the Dierks city government, all elected positions, with the exception of mayor, are open in the November general election. This includes six city council seats and the recorder/treasurer’s position.

Petitions for any of the positions are available through the Howard county clerk’s office. The Dierks school board filing period will be open from noon July 27th until noon August 3rd. The city government petitions may be filed from noon July 29th until noon August 5th.
