Florida man arrested in Howard County

On June 11th, 2024, Officer Mark Barnes of the Nashville Police Department spotted a black Audi heading southbound, overtaking on a double yellow line on US Highway 27. The officer activated the vehicle’s warning lights and proceeded to stop the car.

The affidavit states that the vehicle pulled over at the Road Mart convenience store. Barnes then approached the driver, 25-year-old Devin Gadson from Pensacola, Florida. Gadson informed the officers that he did not possess a driver’s license and was on his way back to Florida to have it reinstated. Officer Barnes was advised by the dispatcher that Gadson’s driver’s license was suspended.

Additional officers arrived to assist and were granted permission to search Gadson’s vehicle. They discovered a grinder, suspected marijuana, and a Marlin .22 caliber rifle concealed in a blanket in the rear seat area. It was also revealed that Gadson is a convicted felon. Consequently, Gadson was arrested, taken to the Howard County Detention Facility, and charged with possession of firearms by certain individuals.
