Flu Shots Still Available

There are still additional opportunities to receive a flu vaccination during the month of October.

Donna Webb of the Howard County Health Unit says a clinic will be held in Dierks next Tuesday, October 7 from 2 until 3:30 at the Dierks Community Center.

Other flu vaccinations will be available at Plyler Home Center in Glenwood on Thursday from 1 until 3:00.

The flu is easily spread through coughing or sneezing and by touching something, such as a door knob, with the virus on it, and then touching their nose or mouth. Good hand washing habits are important in preventing the flu; however, the best way to prevent the flu is to get the vaccine.
