Former Persecutor will begin serving as Circuit Judge, Jan. 1
25 years of representing crime victims will come to an end today for 9th West Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Chesshir. Tomorrow morning, Chesshir will be sworn as a Circuit Judge for the 9th West District. A native of Nashville, Chesshir moved back home from Arkadelphia in 1995 to become the deputy prosecutor in Howard County. He served in that capacity until 2008, when he was elected prosecutor for the district that includes Howard, Pike, Sevier & Little River counties.
Chesshir says it has been a good feeling to know that he’s been able to provide a sense of closure for victims of crime:
When he assumes the new role as circuit judge, Chesshir says it will take a little time for him to get use the change in positions:
He is replacing Charles Yeargan, who is retiring after serving 24 years.
