Friday October 18 is Charlie Hubbard Night at Scrapper Stadium
The Nashville School District has designated this Friday, October 18th as Charlie Hubbard Night at Scrapper Stadium. Superintendent Doug Graham says that Hubbard will be an Honorary Captain during the coin toss. Johnny Wilson will recognize his years of service to Scrapper Athletics during this time. Charlie and his family will sit in the press box to watch the Ashdown game and join Bunch Nichols on the radio for a portion of the game.
“We are going to recognize Mr. Hubbard for 40 years of service, where he served as the radio voice of Scrapper athletics. Charlie called over 500 football games during that time, including several other sports, and worked from 1977 to 2016.”
Hubbard had several color commentators including longtime co-host Rick Castleberry, Joe Branch, David Earl Williams, Jeff McBride, Floyd Clark, Freddie Horne, and Mark Trout.
