Fuel Tax Increase

A new fuel tax increase goes into effect tomorrow in Arkansas. The tax approved in March will raise about $95 million for highway funding and is the first increase in 20 years.

The gas tax will rise by 3 cents to 24.5 cents a gallon and the tax on diesel fuel will increase 6 cents to 28.5 cents per gallon.

That new law will also provide additional funding in expected revenue from casinos.
