Genoa Central elects to play 8-man football in the fall

Nashville and other members of the 7-4A Conference will have two open dates on their football schedules for the 2022 season.  Nashville Athletic Director James “Bunch” Nichols said he received confirmation Friday that Genoa Central has elected to play eight man football in the fall.  Genoa Central is scheduled to move into the 7-4A Conference for the 22/23 school  year.  Due to being past the deadline to qualify for championship play, the Dragons will play 8 man football with no post-season.  Nashville and Genoa were scheduled to play November 4th, which is the final date of the regular season.  Nichols said at that point in the season, schools are playing conference games, likely meaning Nashville won’t be able to find an opponent.  If that happens, the Scrappers regular season would end with an October 28th home game against Malvern.
