Glenwood Mayor Discusses Nearly $500,000 Grant for Wastewater System Upgrades

While the City of Glenwood moves forward with improvements to its wastewater treatment system after securing a grant of nearly $500,000, KMTB and KNAS recently spoke with Glenwood Mayor Billy Plyler about the funding and what the project will mean for the city’s wastewater treatment facility.
Mayor Plyler discussed the improvements the grant will help fund, including upgrades to the city’s wastewater treatment system. He also emphasized the importance of the project for the community and highlighted several additional water and sewer projects currently underway in Glenwood.
Plyler then explained the next steps as the city moves forward with the project.
The mayor said residents should not expect any service interruptions, noting that the work will be completed as an internal project at the wastewater treatment plant.
In addition to the city’s water and sewer improvements, Mayor Plyler highlighted Glenwood’s continued investment in tourism, including sidewalk and paving projects, while also promoting one of the area’s most popular attractions—floating the Caddo River.
