A Glenwood woman was arrested early Thursday morning, March 7, 2025, in connection with a burglary and theft of property at a residence on Coker Street.

According to the affidavit, the property owner reported on March 6th that items were being stolen from her home while she was away at another residence. On March 7th, video surveillance captured a person at the property around 4:35 AM with a black bag and backpack. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers observed an individual near the residence wearing a blue hoodie. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was identified as 65 year old Sue Burgess, who had been previously encountered by authorities.

It was also reported that Burgess was placed under arrest for burglary and theft of property. Officers later entered the residence and confirmed that several items were out of place. The homeowner confirmed that no one had permission to be at the residence.

During an interview at the police station, Burgess reportedly admitted that the backpack she carried was hers. Upon searching the backpack, officers discovered clothes and glass collectibles that appeared to have been stolen from the residence. Burgess did not confirm or deny ownership of the items.
