Governor Says State Still Not Ready For Contact Sports
Arkansas reported 734 new community cases of COVID-19 yesterday. Governor Asa Hutchinson says, at this point, the state still isn’t ready to begin contact sports.
Fall sports are about a month away in Arkansas, and while there’s been no change in plans for contact sports here, the state of Texas has given approval for most classifications to start fall sports on time. The Arkansas Activities Association said Tuesday it remains in close contact with the governor’s office and health department to provide any guideline updates.
The Scrappers football season is scheduled to begin August 28th against Pleasant Grove, Texas.
