Historic Washington Hosting Exhibit

Historic Washington State Park is hosting a traveling exhibit the next few weeks. Territorial Arkansas: The Wild Western Frontier explores the history of Arkansas Territory through various state and regional archives including those of the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives in Washington.

The Arkansas Territory was established by President James Monroe in March of 1819 and came from the southern portion of the Missouri Territory.

Arkansas earned statehood June 15th, 1836.

The traveling display will be available for public viewing through January 6th from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. There is no admission fee.
