Historic Washington Hosting Exhibit

Historic Washington State Park is hosting a traveling exhibit through Monday. Territorial Arkansas: The Wild Western Frontier explores the history of Arkansas Territory through various state and regional archives including those of the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives in Washington.

The Arkansas Territory was established by President James Monroe in March of 1819 and came from the southern portion of the Missouri Territory. Arkansas earned statehood June 15th, 1836.

The traveling display is available for public viewing from 8:00 AM -5:00 PM. There is no admission fee.
