Historic Washington State Park Superintendent speaks to Nashville Rotary Club
Pam Beasley was the guest speaker this week at the Nashville Rotary Club meeting. She is the park superintendent at Historic Washington State Park.
Beasley said she took over the park just before the pandemic and things are just now starting to return to ‘normal.’ One of the normal events that is returning this weekend at the park is the 54th annual Jonquil Festival.
Beasley said the park has restarted their programs, tours as well as lodging opportunities at the new Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast and Brunson House.
Beasley said the park will also be hosting a new festival in conjunction with the City of Washington called the James Black Bowie Knife Festival on April 23rd. She also mentioned two new exhibits called The Man, The Myth, The Legend James Black and Death and Dying in the 19th Century.
Beasley also said that there will be a mini archaeological dig next week at the park and everyone is invited to stop by and watch the dig.
