HMH COO and ER Director provides safety tips for total eclipse
Recently, KMTB and KNAS had the opportunity to speak with Howard Memorial Hospital’s COO Stacy Harberson along ER Director and Preparedness Coordinator Steven May to discuss planning for the eclipse.
Harberson, who’s been with HMH for about 10 years in the Radiology Director capacity shared that she recently had the opportunity to advance to the Chief Operating Officer at HMH.
Harberson said that one of the coolest things is that this is the first total eclipse that Arkansas has had since 1918 and the next one will be in 2045. Harberson also provided some information concerning Howard Memorial Hospital.
May talked about the importance of wearing glasses while watching the eclipse and he mentioned how he talked about how the volume of people will affect the emergency medical services.
Harberson stated that it’s pretty strategic to make sure that they have the space to house patience and staff. Harberson said they just want to make sure that things run as smoothly as possible.
