HMH elects new Chief of Staff

Tuesday, Members of the Howard Memorial Hospital Board elected Doctor Carla Pumphrey as Medical Staff Representative to the Board. Doctor Sifau Oladipo was elected Vice Chief of Staff. According to CEO Debra Wright’s report, Doctor John Hearnsberger completed his current term as Chief of Staff and didn’t seek another term. Hearnsberger has served as Chief of Staff since 2010. Wright said-quote “I appreciate the advice and support he has given this hospital during his tenure and his stating he would continue to do so.” Wright told the board that there will be a reception held for Dr. Hearnsberger tomorrow from 2pm to 4pm at HMH Cafeteria.

Wright mentioned that 13 robotic cases have been performed this month and 13 was performed in February. HMH’s goal is to perform ten new robotics cases each month. Wright said she had a follow up meeting with a urologist who is interested in doing robotic cases at HMH.

Wright also mentioned to the board that Howard Memorial Hospital was chosen as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals 2023. Wright stated HMH was chosen back in 2014 and she’s excited that HMH has been chosen again.
