HMH researching purchase of robotic surgical system

Last week, the Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors met, and hospital CFO Bill Craig provided the board with a proforma concerning the purchase of a robotic surgical system. Craig stated the goal of the proforma was to discover how many new cases it would take to pay off the purchase of the system. Craig said if the hospital could increase its surgical cases by 8 in the first year and 9 during the 2 through 5 years, which means the hospital could possibly pay off the system in about 5-years.

Craig said the system will be proposed on the 2022-2023 capital expenditure budget.
