HMH Safe Haven Baby Box to be blessed October 5
The 11th Safe Haven Baby Box in Arkansas will be blessed Wednesday, October 5th at 2pm. The blessing will be held at the Howard Memorial Hospital, located at 130 Medical Circle, here in Nashville, and is open to the public.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes were founded by author, Monica Kelsey, who is known for her book titled “Blessed to Have Been Abandoned”.
Kelsey was abandoned as an infant. Prior to founding Safe Haven Baby Boxes, Kelsey served her country for eight years in the military and has served her community as a firefighter/medic.
Kelsey life’s mission is to end infant abandonment with the aid of awareness and education on Safe Haven Laws. Another mission of Kelsey is to provide anonymous safe surrender locations through Safe Haven Baby Boxes.
The Safe Haven Baby Boxes organization offers a 24\7 Safe Haven National Crisis Hotline and that number is 1-866-99BABY1.
The Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation provided funding for this project and supported this mission throughout the process. The Baby Box is located on the southwest corner of Howard Memorial Hospital and is the first hospital in the state with a Safe Haven Baby Box.
Chairman of the HMH Foundation, Gary Dan Futrell stated if they can protect just one child, it’s the best decision the HMH foundation ever made.
