Hoover named Murfreesboro Fireman of the Year
The Murfreesboro City Council has voted to spend almost 6,800 dollars to help equip a police vehicle that’s currently being driven by Police Chief Randy Lamb. The money will be used to install a camera system in the vehicle. With the chief getting a new vehicle soon, his current unit will be put into the department’s patrol rotation.
In other business from this week’s meeting, Mayor Rodney Fagan said Branch Construction will be building headwalls for a few culverts in town and the council has voted to spend $5,500 dollars on a consulting fee to determine the city’s best route to solve some of its drainage issues.
Following the council meeting, the Murfreesboro Fire Department held its annual Christmas party. Fireman Josh Hoover was presented the department’s Fireman of the Year award, which is voted on by the firemen. Hoover, a four year member of the department, also won the award last year. Another recognition was also presented to police officer Micah Brown, who recently graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy.
