Hope man tragically dies in late-night collision with a train
A man from Hope has died following a late-night collision with a train on Tuesday, July 2nd. The preliminary report by the Arkansas State Police states that Russell L. Neal, 42, of Hope, was driving a 2023 Mack truck westbound on Hempstead County Road 2 near U.S. Highway 67. He reportedly did not yield at a railroad crossing and was hit by a train.
Hempstead County Coroner David Peters pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Trooper Jacob Haynie is the investigating officer. The incident occurred at 11:35 pm on Tuesday night.
