Hope Police Department investigating overnight homicide

Officers of the Hope Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred overnight. On Wednesday May 8th at approximately 10:48pm, HPD were called to the area of the 900 block of East 1st Street in reference to shots being fired. 

According to records, it was reported that as officers arrived on the scene, they located a subject lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The subject was then transported to the hospital but was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as 22 year old James Deloney of Hope. Law Enforcement are continuing the investigation to identify witnesses, suspects, and evidence.
