Horne Discusses Historical Society Projects, Announces Final Year on City Council

KMTB and KNAS recently spoke with longtime community member Freddie Horne about ongoing efforts by the Howard County Historical Society and his future plans in public service.

Horne, who serves as president of the Howard County Historical Society, said the organization remains active with several projects and activities designed to preserve local history and increase community involvement.

Among the society’s recent developments, Horne highlighted the addition of two new board members and the launch of a new T-shirt fundraising campaign. The fundraiser is intended to support the Historical Society’s preservation efforts and future projects.

In addition to discussing the Historical Society, Horne reflected on his years of service on the Nashville City Council. Horne announced that this will be his final year serving on the council after eight years representing the citizens of Nashville.

Although he plans to step away from city government, Horne said he intends to remain involved in community organizations and continue supporting historical preservation efforts throughout Howard County.
