Hot Springs Man Sentenced For 2017 Incident

A Hot Springs man accused of damaging a Howard County Sheriff’s patrol car in 2017 has been sentenced to a community corrections facility.  In addition to the 120 day sentence, 34 year old Joshua Hogan must also pay six thousand 385 dollars in restitution to the county and its insurance company within 60 days. Hogan was also sentenced to five years probation and fined 15 hundred dollars.

In October 2017, deputies received a call concerning a suspicious vehicle with a male slumped over the steering wheel while parked at the Umpire Post Office.  Before deputies arrived, the vehicle left on Highway 84 and a short time later deputies were in a pursuit with the vehicle traveling over 100 miles per hour.  The incident ended when Hogan’s vehicle struck the patrol car in a field causing considerable damage.  During their investigation into the incident, deputies learned the passenger car was reported to have been stolen from Malvern.
