Howard County 4-H STEM Club Members speaks at the Rotary Club
Members with the Howard County 4-H STEM Club spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club this week. The Shockwave Sea Perch team will compete in the International Sea Perch competition in Washington D.C. this May.
Shockwave members, Asher Howard, Ace McKinnon and Kody O’Brien will be representing Arkansas in the JR. division. A team from Grant County will be representing Arkansas in the SR. division and Arkansas will have a team competing in the Open division.
Howard stated their robot was a utility remote operated vehicle and they will compete on a mission course and an obstacle course. He said their fastest time in an obstacle course was 1 minute and 30 seconds.
O’Brien discussed what they do with the robot, along with what activities he’s involved in.
McKinnon mentioned how they practice with the robot, and he talked about what activities he’s involved in.
Howard said he’s in shooting sports and he also mentioned what animals he showcases.
Shockwave will be competing against 180 to 200 teams from around the world.
4-H members held a bake sale last week and raised $1,500 and you can help sponsor the team by donating to the 4-H Foundation.
