Howard County 4-Hers Win State Competitions

Howard County 4-H had two first place winners in each of the two Farm Bureau sponsored state contests held July 24 at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds. Senior 4-H’er, Brody Cupples, competed in the Rice is Nice Contest and Junior 4-H’er, Ember Boyce, competed in the Dairy Recipe category. Six contestants in each category were selected for the statewide competition from winners of local contests conducted by county Farm Bureau organizations.

Each contestant was required to send in a copy of their recipe, a summary of why they selected that recipe and a video of them making the dish. Judges then tasted each dish and reviewed each contestant’s submission before choosing the winners.
