Howard County Economic Director speaks at Mineral Springs City Council meeting
Monday during the Mineral Springs City Council’s regular monthly meeting, aldermen approved to reconcile the actual expenditures of the 2023 budget so they can be in compliance with the audit standards of the legislative audit. Mayor Bobby Tullis informed the board that he spent 2023 trying to do the small infrastructure projects and he doesn’t anticipate doing any of that in 2024 because they have the sewer project to deal with. Tullis also mentioned a $500,000 dollar project and when it should be completed.
Howard County Economic Development Director Vanessa Weeks had the opportunity to speak with the council so she can give them an idea of how the foundation works and what resources they can obtain to bring quality of life to the community.
Board Member of the Howard County Economic Development, Charles Smith was in attendance as well and he said they have a lot to learn but he feels like they have the skill set and the desire to make changes. Smith said quote, “Unless you actively pursue something, nothing will change.”
