Howard County Election Commission adds voting site in North Howard County

Howard County’s voting locations for this year’s election process have been named.  For the first time in recent elections, a voting site will be returning to northern Howard County, as the county’s election commission met Wednesday and decided to have the Umpire Fire Department host a voting center.  Other single voting centers will also be placed at the Carter Day Center in Nashville, the Mineral Springs Methodist Church, and the Dierks Community Center.  Those four locations will be open for voting on election day for the May 24th Primary Election, the June runoff, and the November General Election

Early voting will take place May 9th through the 23rd at the Carter Day Center in Nashville.  A one day early voting period will also be available in Dierks on May 23rd.

County Clerk Keri Teague said Howard County residents have already, or soon will, be receiving an updated voter card in the mail.  However, some of those cards contain misinformation.  The clerk’s office is aware of the problem and will be sending out corrected voter cards.

Clerk Teague also says poll workers are needed for this year’s election process.  Workers are paid $11 an hour and a mandatory training session is scheduled in April.  Anyone interested in becoming a poll worker is asked to contact the county clerk’s office at 845-7502.
