Howard County Fair 2024: Grand Champions Announced Across Exhibits
The 2024 Howard County Fair recently had a display of talent as the Grand Champion winners in various exhibit categories were revealed.
In the Senior Flower Show, Pearlie Snell was honored as the Grand Champion in the Cut Flower category, while Betty Johnson took top honors for Plant. Over in the Junior Flower Show, Bin Walston emerged as the champion in Cut Flower.
The Food Preservation awards went to Stacy Middleton in the Senior division and Guy Cooper Kroll in the Junior division.
In Needlework, Kathy Stinnett captured the Grand Champion title for Quilt in the Senior category. Lynn Gleba was recognized for her Afghan, and Carol Mitchell for Cross Stitch. The Junior Needlework winners included Emmie Trombley for Quilt and Lily Trombley for Crochet.
Gayle Castleberry was the standout in photography, winning both the Senior Black & White and Color categories. Emiline Petty was named the Junior Photography Grand Champion.
Wade Bearden and Calvin Parker excelled in the Senior Home Arts division, while Christian Trombley and Tyler Hathcoat were the top Junior Home Arts competitors. Tanner Harris was named Reserve Grand Champion in Junior Home Arts.
In the Art category, Renata Vilar won the Senior Grand Champion title, with Klaire Hendry and Hudson Robinson leading the Junior artists.
Margaret Dixon took home the Grand Champion award in Senior Horticulture, and Barron Kitchens was honored in the Junior Horticulture category.
Dana Newberg was awarded Grand Champion in Senior Baked Goods, while Brody Cupples earned the top spot in the Junior Baked Goods division.
Finally, Judy Johnson was named Grand Champion in Senior Clothing, with Anita Faye Kinnu winning in the Junior Clothing category.
