Howard County Fair Set to Kick Off September 1st With New Attractions and Upgrades

The countdown is on for the Howard County Fair, set to take place Monday, September 1st through Friday, September 6th at the Howard County Fairgrounds — and this year’s event promises more fun, more entertainment, and some exciting new features.

We spoke with Howard County Fair Board Member Kaitlyn Miller, who shared that the fairgrounds have received several upgrades in preparation for the event.

Miller also outlined what fairgoers can expect throughout the week — along with important nomination details for various events.

Each night of the fair will feature live entertainment, and this year, the fair is introducing a brand-new attraction: the calf scramble.

On Friday, the fair will hold its premium sale, and throughout the week, families can enjoy the petting zoo, which will feature a variety of animals.

Here’s a quick look at the ticket prices:

  • Petting zoo: $7
  • Bull and bronc riding: $10 (children 5 and under get in free)
  • Camel and pony rides: $10
