Howard County Judge speaks at Nashville Rotary meeting
Howard County Judge Brent Pinkerton spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club on Wednesday. He discussed the Howard County Airport and the current hanger project.
Pinkerton said the airport was established in March of 1969 and currently has a runway that is 3,996 feet long and 75 feet wide.
Pinkerton said the county is currently working on building two hangers. One hanger will be a 4-bay hanger and the other hanger will be a 2-bay hanger. He said these hangers were being built with two grants totaling $1,050,000. Pinkerton said the goal was to house 10 planes at the county airport, so the county would be eligible for federal funding in the amount of $150,000 a year.
Pinkerton said most county residents do not realize Howard County has an airport, but it is a critical piece to the county’s economic puzzle.
