Howard County Quorum Court

Howard County has received word from the Arkansas Attorney General’s office that nothing can be legally done regarding the assessor’s position.  Assessor Debbie Teague suffered a medical condition in the spring of 2019 that required a lengthy hospital stay & has kept her out of the office for the most part since then.  Teague is serving a four term that expires at the end of 2022.  Last year, the Howard County Quorum Court explored options regarding the situation.  A vote that would have attempted to declare a vacancy in the assessor’s position failed.   State Senator Larry Teague met with the quorum court last year and indicated his wife would have no plans to resign her position until possibly February of 2022.
