Howard County Quorum Court Approves Budget, Jail Roofing Bid and FOIA Fee

The Howard County Quorum Court met Monday for their regular monthly meeting, where justices of the peace approved several motions involving county operations, appointments, facility improvements and public records requests.

During the meeting, JPs approved a motion pertaining to an ordinance for the 2026 Howard County operating budget.

The Quorum Court also approved the reappointment of Dr. Glen Lance and Wesley Howard to the Howard Memorial Hospital Board. Both were reappointed to serve another three-year term.

In other business, the court approved reimbursing the City of Nashville $7,300 for the county’s use of the building constructed to house the Multi-Agency Command Center.

JPs also approved a bid from Langford Roofing in the amount of $117,265 for roofing work at the Howard County Jail.

The Quorum Court unanimously voted to allow county offices to follow the state statute, which permits a charge of up to 25 cents per copy for records requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The motions approved Monday address several areas of county government, including the 2026 budget, board appointments, facility expenses, jail improvements and the processing of public records requests.
