Howard County Quorum Court approves resolution for grant
Two members have been reappointed to the Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. Johnny McJunkins and Julie Rhodes were reappointed at Monday’s meeting of the Howard County Quorum Court. McJunkins and Rhodes will be on the hospital board an additional three years.
J.p.’s approved a resolution for a grant, seeking nearly $22,000 dollars. Circuit Clerk Angie Lewis said application for the funding is being made to the Association of Arkansas Counties. The county will not have to provide any matching money. If received, Lewis said the grant will allow for an upgrade of equipment to scan court and land records. Any court documents the public has access to, is currently available for the public to see online. This grant will provide for an update of the scanning equipment and other software needed for the online records.
Lewis said its been several years since the county received a grant on this project, and that makes her pretty confident the county will receive money from this grant submission.
