Howard County Quorum Court May meeting part 1
Monday afternoon, the Howard County Quorum Court met in the Howard County EH House on Second Street in Nashville.
County Judge Brent Pinkerton presented the 2022 Legislative Audit to the Jps. Pinkerton explained the county received the usual findings that every county and city receives for segregation of duties, but he also informed them that they had a finding concerning some fraudulent charges on the county judge’s credit card. The charges were made between December of 2022 and the first few days of January in 2023.
Pinkerton explained how the charges were discovered and the amount that was in question.
Howard County Treasurer Sheri Mixon reported the counties sales tax was up ‘a little bit’ from April. She also stated that county revenue was trending according to the yearly projection.
Jps approved an ordinance to amend the 2024 operating budget.
The Law Library General Supplies account was increased by $413.44. The increase was the result of a refund from Thomson Reuters for a duplicate payment.
The Airport Maintenance and Service Contract was increased by $3,643.34. These funds will be moved from the unappropriated account for the installment of a new lift master gate opener with keypad and post with exit probe and new gate roller.
