Howard County Quorum Court Meets For January

The Howard County Quorum Court had a light agenda Tuesday for their first meeting of this year. J.P.’s reviewed the monthly financial reports. County Judge Kevin Smith said work is expected to be complete within a few days on the HVAC and energy efficiency project the county began last year. Smith said the solar panels on the old hospital grounds are generating electricity on sunny days. The court authorized Treasurer Sherri Mixon to move a checking account from Arvest to Diamond Bank to avoid having a monthly fee. Judge Smith announced that Lesa Bell would serve as President of the Howard County Library Board and Ronny Morris has been appointed as a board member.
