Howard County Quorum Court Passes Key Ordinances During Monthly Meeting
During the Howard County Quorum Court’s regular monthly meeting on Tuesday morning, several important ordinances were passed, including amendments to the 2024 Howard County operating budget and the approval of the 2025 operating budget. The court also addressed the levy of a one percent sales tax and the special election sales tax scheduled for later this year.
Howard County Judge Brent Pinkerton took a moment to discuss the ordinances and emphasize the importance of the upcoming special election on May 13th, urging the public to get out and vote.
In addition to the budget and tax-related ordinances, Judge Pinkerton presented a resolution regarding the vacancy of Justice of the Peace District 7, following the departure of Martha Hobbs. He revealed that he already has a candidate in mind to fill the vacant seat.
