Howard County unemployment rate rises slightly

Howard County’s unemployment rate for the month of December rose slightly from the previous month to a level of two percent. That ranks the county as having the 12th lowest unemployment in Arkansas. Hempstead County had a rate of 2.3 percent, while in Pike, Sevier and Little River counties, the December unemployment rate was 2.8 percent, ranking them at 41st in the state.
It was announced recently that the statewide unemployment rate in Arkansas was 3.1 percent, which is the lowest figure seen since the numbers have been kept for the state.
