Howard County Veterans hold Memorial Day ceremony

More than a dozen veterans, along with some family members and the public, turned out Monday for the annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Howard County Courthouse monument.  Milton Puryear is the Veterans Services Officer in Howard County.  He said Monday’s event was all about honoring and paying respect to servicemen from this area who paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country:

The courthouse monument lists the names of nearly 90 servicemen from Howard County and the immediate surrounding area who lost their lives.  The largest portion of that list is servicemen who didn’t return home in World War Two.
